4 ways to install Meta Muse: iPhone, Android, Mac and the web
Meta Muse is free to start on iPhone, Android, Mac or muse.ai. Who can get it, signing in with a Meta account, connecting apps, permissions and plans.
Muse is the one personal AI agent of 2026 you can start with for free, which is why it went to the top of the App Store. It is also the one people most often fail to install: not because the app is hard, but because it checks where you are and how old you are before it lets you in.
Here are the four ways in, the account it needs, and what to set up before you give it your email, as of October 2026.
Who can use Muse
- Country: at launch Muse was US only (9to5Mac); by late October guides list the US and Canada (Zapier).
- Age: 18 or older. New accounts verify identity and age during setup.
- Account: a Meta account. An existing Facebook or Instagram login works, or you create one with an email address or phone number.
1. iPhone
Search the App Store for Muse from Meta and check that the publisher is Meta (9to5Mac). Install, open, sign in.
2. Android
Search Google Play for Muse and again check that the publisher is Meta. Skip anything offered as a "Muse APK" and anyone charging for the app; the app itself is free.
3. Mac
Muse first reached the Mac through the browser. A dedicated Mac app came later and is downloaded from Meta's page at ai.meta.com/muse/download, not from the Mac App Store. Meta says on the Mac it can work across apps, files, calendar, notes and messages, with you deciding what it can access.
4. The web (and Windows)
Go to muse.ai and log in. There is no Windows app yet; Microsoft said on October 7, 2026 that one is coming, without a date (AI Agents Library). On a PC, use the browser.
First run
After you sign in, Muse walks you through a short setup: you name your assistant (and on the phone pick an avatar) and choose the apps to connect (Zapier). Allow notifications on your phone; approval requests reach you that way.
Connect apps, carefully
Open settings with Cmd or Ctrl plus ,, click Connectors, then Connect next to an app, log in and click Allow. You can also ask Muse in chat to connect something. There are two routes:
- One app at a time, which is best for one or two apps.
- Through Zapier, one install that reaches many apps at once, where you pick which ones.
For each connector you choose read-only or full action permissions (Zapier). Start with read-only. Muse already stops to ask before consequential actions such as sending email or buying something, and a running log shows what it did and plans to do, but read-only means a confused or manipulated agent cannot act at all.
If you run a small business, the business edition from September 29, 2026 adds about 15 connectors including Shopify, Stripe, QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Slack, Canva and Zoom, plus Meta ad accounts, inside the same app (PPC Land).
Free, Power or Maximum
| Plan | Price | Weekly usage |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | limited |
| Power | from $16/month | 500M Muse tokens |
| Maximum | from $80/month | 3B Muse tokens |
Prices and token figures are from Zapier, which notes they vary; CNBC reported $20 and $100 at launch (CNBC). Your actual price is in settings, General, Upgrade under Usage. Start free; the limits tell you quickly whether you need more.
Can Muse order the parts for a circuit board?
Not directly, today. Muse can browse a distributor's site, but a real BOM means dozens of exact part numbers, price breaks and minimum order quantities, and distributor sites push back on automated browsing. That work needs a parts tool the agent can call. Muse for Small Business supports custom connectors, but Meta has not said which protocol they use, so we cannot yet say whether an MCP server such as Next Everything plugs in.
What does work: Claude, Claude Duet, Cursor, Codex and Grok Bot can all call an MCP server. Our comparison of the agents covers which one fits which job, and which AI models support MCP explains why it matters for ordering parts.

More on what Muse does and how it compares with Claude Duet is in our Meta Muse guide. If you want an agent that sources a whole BOM, order every part for a KiCad project from Claude Code shows the full flow, and sign up is free.
