Next Everything MCP
Next Everything is a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP). Your agent calls it to turn a hardware project into a priced, orderable build: components, PCBs, 3D prints, CNC and sheet-metal parts, ordered for you and delivered to your door.
Quickstart
- Create a free account and copy your API key from the dashboard.
- Add the server to your client (below). The endpoint is
https://mcp.nexteverything.io/mcp. - From the root of your project, ask: “Use Next Everything to order the parts I need to build this.”
Client setup
Authentication is a bearer token in the Authorization header. Replace nx_live_your_key with the key from your dashboard.
Tools
nx_scan_project
Extracts a normalised bill of materials from a repository or folder. Resolves every line to an orderable part and flags ambiguous ones.
| Param | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
path | string | Project root or file. Defaults to the working directory. |
qty | integer | Number of units to build. Default 1. |
include_mech | boolean | Include STEP/STL/DXF parts and fasteners. Default true. |
nx_search_parts
Searches live stock and pricing by MPN, parametric spec or plain-English description. Returns alternates ranked by compatibility.
| Param | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
query | string | e.g. "3.3V LDO 500mA SOT-23-5" or an MPN. |
filters | object | Package, temperature range, RoHS, min stock. |
region | string | us (default), eu or uk. |
nx_quote
Prices a full build, including shipping and duties. The user picks which lines to order.
| Param | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
bom_id | string | From nx_scan_project. |
strategy | enum | recommended (default) or fastest. |
ship_to | string | saved or a country / postcode. |
nx_quote_fabrication
Instant quote for one manufactured part or a Gerber package.
| Param | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
file | string | Path to STEP, STL, 3MF, DXF or a Gerber zip. |
process | enum | fdm, sla, sls, mjf, cnc_mill, cnc_turn, laser, sheet_metal, pcb, pcba. |
material | string | e.g. PETG, Al6061, FR4-1.6. |
nx_checkout
Creates a payment link for a quote. The agent cannot pay on your behalf: you open the link and confirm.
nx_track_order
Returns the status of every sub-order, and the tracking numbers of every delivery.
Supported inputs
| Area | Formats |
|---|---|
| Electronics | KiCad 7 to 9, atopile, tscircuit, Flux BOM export, Altium / EasyEDA BOM CSV, Gerber + pick-and-place |
| Mechanical | STEP, STL, 3MF, DXF, Fusion 360 and Onshape exports, OpenSCAD, build123d / CadQuery output |
| Firmware | platformio.ini, Arduino sketches, ESP-IDF / Zephyr manifests (used to pick dev boards and modules) |
Ordering & payment
Quotes are valid for 24 hours. Prices are landed, in US dollars: parts, fabrication, shipping and, outside the US, import duties. Payment is taken once per order through a hosted checkout page. Partial refunds are issued automatically if a part cannot be delivered.
Limits & errors
Requests are processed through a shared queue. When the queue is full the server returns an error result with code NX_CAPACITY and your agent will tell you to try again later.
{
"isError": true,
"content": [{ "type": "text", "text": "NX_CAPACITY: Next Everything is at capacity…" }]
}
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
401 | Missing or invalid API key. |
NX_CAPACITY | Too many builders right now. Retry later. |
NX_UNSUPPORTED_REGION | Shipping address outside the US, EU or UK. |
