ESP32 module prices: S3, C3, C6 and WROOM-32E
Espressif sells the same modules through JLCPCB/LCSC, DigiKey and Mouser, and the price gap between them depends on the module and the quantity. We looked up four current modules and one that is being phased out on 22 October 2026.
The numbers at 100 pieces
| Module | JLCPCB / LCSC | DigiKey | Mouser |
|---|---|---|---|
ESP32-C3-WROOM-02-N4 | $2.4347 (23,847) | $2.5391 (2,282) | $2.59 (5,142) |
ESP32-WROOM-32E-N4 | $2.7029 (32,179) | no offer | $3.76 (5,527) |
ESP32-C6-WROOM-1-N8 | $3.1705 (4,249) | $4.1844 (2,164) | $4.19 (2,818) |
ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N8R8 | $3.6594 (5,519) | $4.7741, 0 stock | $4.73 (2,616) |
ESP32-C3-MINI-1-N4 (NRND) | 0 stock | $2.4502 (2,711) | 0 stock |

What the numbers say
- JLCPCB was cheapest on every module it had in stock, by 4% on the ESP32-C3 and by 23 to 28% on the S3, C6 and WROOM-32E.
- DigiKey and Mouser were within a few cents of each other on every module both listed.
- At reel quantities the order changes. DigiKey sold the ESP32-C3-WROOM-02-N4 in 650-piece reels at $1.90 each, against $2.3366 at JLCPCB for 650. For the ESP32-C6, DigiKey's reel was $3.13002 against $3.0201 at JLCPCB.
- Every module is an extended part at JLCPCB, so assembly adds $3 per order. On 10 boards that is $0.30 each, less than the price gap on all but the C3.
Which module for what
| Module | Radio | Size | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| ESP32-C3-WROOM-02 | Wi-Fi 4, Bluetooth LE 5 | 20 × 18 mm, 18 pads | The cheapest way to put Wi-Fi on a board. Single RISC-V core, few GPIOs. |
| ESP32-WROOM-32E | Wi-Fi 4, Bluetooth 4.2 incl. Classic | 25.5 × 18 mm | Bluetooth Classic (audio, serial port profile) and existing ESP32 code. |
| ESP32-C6-WROOM-1 | Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth LE 5, 802.15.4 | 25.5 × 18 mm | Thread, Zigbee and Matter devices. |
| ESP32-S3-WROOM-1 | Wi-Fi 4, Bluetooth LE 5 | 25.5 × 18 mm | Cameras, displays, USB devices and on-device ML: two cores, native USB, 8 MB PSRAM on the N8R8. |
One detail on the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N8R8: it is listed for −40 to 65 °C, not 85 °C like the others, because of its octal PSRAM. For an enclosure that gets hot, check the variants without PSRAM or with quad PSRAM.
The module being phased out
The ESP32-C3-MINI-1-N4 is marked not recommended for new designs. On 22 October 2026 only DigiKey had stock; JLCPCB's had gone from 2,638 to zero over the last 120 days. For a new design, use a current module; for an existing one, check Espressif's product change notices for its successor. We describe this case in how to replace an obsolete part.
Prices are list prices in USD from 22 October 2026, without shipping, taxes or tariffs. Bare ESP32 chips are cheaper than modules but need an RF layout, an antenna and certification, which modules already have.

About the data
The numbers in this article come from Next Everything, an MCP server we build that lets AI assistants such as Claude, Cursor and Codex check a BOM against the JLCPCB/LCSC catalog and live Mouser and DigiKey prices. If you want to run the same check on your own BOM, the setup guides show how to connect it.
