JLCPCB basic parts: resistors and capacitors without the extended fee
Every unique extended part in a JLCPCB assembly order adds a $3 setup fee. Passives are where that adds up fastest, because a board can easily have twenty resistor and capacitor values. This is the list of 0402 values that come with no fee, taken from the JLCPCB/LCSC library on 21 October 2026.
Short answer
- 0402 is the size to design in if JLCPCB assembles the board. We found 50 resistor values and about 30 capacitor values in 0402 that are basic or preferred parts, with millions in stock.
- 0201 has none. Searching the library for no-fee 0201 resistors and capacitors returned nothing, so every 0201 value is a separate $3 fee.
- E96 values are the gap. Values like 8.87 kΩ, 19.1 kΩ or 6.49 kΩ were not in the no-fee list, so a regulator's feedback divider is often where the fees come from.
Basic and preferred, in one paragraph
Basic parts are kept loaded on JLCPCB's assembly machines. Preferred extended parts are extended parts that JLCPCB charges like basic ones on Economic assembly. Neither has the $3 setup fee; everything else in the library is an extended part with the fee, charged once per unique part per order. The details are in our article on what extended part fees really cost.
The most common 0402 resistors
All are UNI-ROYAL thick film, ±1%, 62.5 mW, 50 V. Unit prices are for single pieces; stock is the JLCPCB number on 21 October 2026.

Also no fee in 0402: 1 pF, 4.7 pF, 6 pF, 12 pF, 15 pF, 18 pF, 20 pF, 27 pF, 33 pF, 47 pF, 150 pF, 220 pF, 330 pF, 470 pF, 2.2 nF, 4.7 nF, 22 nF and 470 nF (10 V).
Two things to watch. The larger values are low-voltage parts: the no-fee 2.2 µF and 10 µF are rated 6.3 V, and an X5R capacitor loses much of its capacitance with DC bias near its rating, so a 10 µF part on a 5 V rail gives you far less than 10 µF. And we found no no-fee 22 µF in 0402, which is a common bulk value next to regulators.
What about 0201?
On 19 October 2026 we searched the JLCPCB library for basic or preferred 0201 resistors and capacitors and found none. A design with twenty 0201 values pays twenty fees: $60 per order. We worked through a real example in the extended part fee article, where moving 0201 passives to 0402 cut the fees on a 5-board order from $129 to $87.
How to use this list
- Pick values from it while you design, not after. A pull-up, an LED resistor or a decoupling capacitor rarely needs a specific value.
- Use one part number per value. Two different 100 nF parts are two fees.
- Keep the precise values for where they matter, such as feedback dividers, and accept the fee there.
- Check stock for your quantity before ordering. These numbers are a snapshot from 21 October 2026, and basic part lists change.
If you search from an AI assistant with Next Everything, find_parts with no_assembly_fee: true returns only basic and preferred parts, which is how this list was built.
